AI Agents and Google Calendar
Appointments land in a Google calendar in production - but through a connection the bitpull team sets up with you, not through a button in the dashboard.
Where this stands today
The bitpull product lists Google Calendar as a calendar integration and is explicit about how it is set up: together with the team. That is a meaningful difference from Calendly, which has a self-serve OAuth connector, an event type picker and its own visible sync state.
Being honest about that distinction is the whole point of this page. "Google Calendar integration" on a feature list usually implies a connect button. Here it means a working production connection with a human involved in setting it up - worth knowing before you promise a two-day rollout.
If you need self-serve today, Calendly is the connector that gives it to you, and a Calendly event type can be backed by a Google calendar anyway. That combination gets you Google availability with a self-serve setup.
What the agent can do
Appointments in your Google calendar
The booking the agent takes appears in the calendar your team already works from - no second system to check.
Availability from the real calendar
Bookings sit inside the same free/busy picture as everything else in the account, rather than in a parallel schedule that drifts.
Self-serve path via Calendly
A Calendly event type connected to a Google calendar gives you Google availability behind the one connector that needs no assistance.
Fallback: booking as a callback
If neither path fits, the agent collects the preferred slot and the webhook delivers it. Slower, but it works today and needs nobody.
How it is wired
- Setup with the teamnot a dashboard button
- Caller asks for a slot
- Agent booksGoogle Calendar
- Confirmationin your team's calendar
Limits worth knowing before you start
- No self-serve OAuth button for Google in the dashboard. That is the difference between this page and the Calendly page.
- Because the setup is assisted, timelines depend on the team's availability. Do not plan a same-day launch around it.
- Shared and delegated calendars in Google Workspace have their own permission model. Whose calendar the agent writes to is a question worth settling before setup, not after.
- Rescheduling and cancelling by phone are not covered. Both are callback requests.
Questions
Why is Calendly self-serve and Google is not?
Calendly has a built connector in the dashboard: authorisation URL, event type list, stored configuration and sync state. Google is described in the product as set up together with the team, and this site will not present that as a button that exists.
What is the fastest route to Google availability today?
Connect a Calendly event type that is itself backed by your Google calendar, then connect Calendly to the agent. Self-serve end to end, and the appointment still lands in Google.
Can the agent read free/busy without booking?
Reading availability without writing is not exposed as a separate capability. In practice, booking through a provider that already enforces availability is what makes the answer correct.
Agents are created and operated on bitpull.ai - this site documents how to connect one. If the outbound webhook is not visible in your dashboard yet, that is the account capability flag, and support can enable it.
